As every redeemed Christian knows, the ushering department of a church is one of the most important organs of the church. In the case of King of kings Community Center, the department goes beyond the routine task of welcoming worshippers into the church, by engaging in other prayerful activities, such as investing a few seconds of prayer in the life of worshippers before they enter into the church.

 

The composition: The ushering department is composed of dedicated members of the church speciality trained in the art of hospitality and courtesy. They go through the foundation classes and subsequently undergo some elements of leadership training as their role require and dictate, that they must at every giving opportunity display leadership potentials especially when confronted by unfriendly and challenging circumstances in the course of their duties.

 

The Vision: The vision of the department is to represent the God idea of welcoming every living soul to an environment where they can worship the Lord in the beauty of His Holiness. The second is to ensure that worshippers go home at the end of every service feeling fulfilled and deriving the joy that comes with true worship, and desiring to come again.   

 

The purpose: The leadership of the church recognises that members and visitors alike come to church to be serviced and it will be a waste of opportunity for anyone to come into the presence of God and go back the same away, as the promise of God is to reward those who diligently seek Him.

 

Their strategy: Realising this injunction of Christ to go into the world and make disciples of all nations, the ushers are positioned to play a consolidating role of welcoming worshippers and making them stay, where it is humanly possible.
